Care Summary

Octospawn (Fimbriaphyllia/Euphyllia yaeyamaensis) is a Euphyllia LPS, related to frogspawn and hammer corals. Each fleshy tentacle splits into short branchlets with knob tips; this morph has bright yellow tips. Moderate, diffused light (about 80–150 PAR, acclimate gradually), low to moderate indirect flow, and sandbed or lower-to-middle rockwork placement. It puts out stinging sweeper tentacles, so leave about 6 inches from non-Euphyllia neighbors; it usually tolerates other Euphyllia. Keep alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium stable. Target feeding small meaty foods 1–2× weekly is optional. Moderate growth; propagated by cutting individual heads.
