Tenuis Acropora
Acropora tenuis
Care Summary
Tenuis Acropora is a staple collector's SPS — thin, elongated branches with tight corallites that develop brilliant blues, greens, and purples under dialed-in lighting, and it's one of the most color-variable species in the genus. Top placement, high intensity PAR, and strong randomized flow; tenuis rewards you with the best color at the intensity levels that would stress lesser corals. The biggest mistake is chasing color by dropping nutrients too low — ultra-low nitrate and phosphate will bleach tenuis before it impresses anyone; keep nitrate in the 2-5 ppm range. Dose amino acids and pigment-boosting supplements weekly; tenuis is one of the species that most visibly responds to targeted supplementation, and the color payoff is real.
