Acropora cytherea is the table coral — the wide, flat plating colonies that define the shallow reef crest look and immediately signal a serious SPS tank to anyone who walks in the room. Top placement is non-negotiable: high PAR, strong randomized flow, and nothing blocking the plate from above or it will bleach from the center outward. What trips most people up is flow directionality — this coral wants turbulent, chaotic surge, not a single powerhead blasting one side; uneven flow causes one-sided RTN that spreads fast.
