Secale Acropora
Acropora secale
Care Summary
Secale Acropora has a distinctive bottlebrush branch structure with densely packed radial corallites that give colonies a fuzzy, textured look under good light — it's a collector's species that stands out among the standard branching Acros. Place it at the top of the tank with maximum PAR and strong, randomized flow; the dense branch structure makes it vulnerable to detritus accumulation if flow is insufficient. Detritus trapping in the branch matrix is the primary failure point — it feeds nuisance algae and triggers localized tissue recession before you catch it; blow it off weekly with a turkey baster. Spot feed weekly with a fine coral food and keep your skimmer dialed in — clean water is more important for secale than any targeted intervention.
