Purpurea Leptastrea

Leptastrea purpurea is a compact, encrusting LPS with small, tightly packed corallites that give it a finely textured, mosaic-like appearance — understated but sharp up close. Bottom placement under moderate light with medium flow; it tolerates lower light better than most LPS and makes a great filler for shaded rockwork zones. Growth is slow, so patience is required — don't mistake slow expansion for a sick coral; this one takes its time and that's just how it grows. Occasional target feeding with small meaty foods like rotifers or reef roids will accelerate its pace and deepen its coloration noticeably over time.
