Joker Favia is a collector morph Favites with high-contrast color patterning between the corallite walls and centers — it's the kind of brain coral that looks painted, and it holds color reliably in a stable tank without demanding expert-level care. Bottom placement with medium indirect light and moderate flow; Favites wants gentle, non-turbulent water movement and will retract polyps in strong direct current, reducing feeding ability. Favites is aggressive despite its calm reputation — those nematocyst-armed tissue extensions at night can damage nearby corals over a wide radius; plan two to three inches of clearance all around. Feed meaty foods like mysis or LPS pellets directly to extended polyps two nights a week; a Joker that's being fed consistently will add a new corallite every couple of months and the color contrast gets sharper with good nutrition.
