Favites sp
Care Summary
Community submission
Fascination Favia is a named Favites morph with high-contrast wall and center coloration — the name sells it well, and it delivers on the visual promise in a stable, moderate-to-intermediate tank without requiring advanced husbandry. Bottom placement with medium light and moderate indirect flow; Favites is a floor coral that does best with gentle random circulation rather than direct powerhead output. As an intermediate coral with moderate aggression, Fascination Favia will extend mesenterial filaments at night to push back against neighbors — give it three inches of clearance around the perimeter and check adjacent corals weekly. Feed meaty LPS foods directly to extended polyps twice a week in the evening; Favites corals that are consistently fed show measurably faster corallite addition and stronger color saturation than unfed colonies.
